Admissions
Admission to the Bioinformatics certificate program requires a bachelor's degree in the life sciences (e.g., molecular or cellular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, genetics, etc.), or informatics (math, computer science, engineering, statistics, etc). In addition to the completion of this degree, candidates must have some exposure to the other discipline.
No prior specific bioinformatics training or education is necessary.
Candidates for the bioinformatics program must also meet all admissions requirements set by The University of Iowa Graduate College.
Applicants will also be evaluated for NIH Training Grant Support. To be eligible for the Jan 2010-August 2010 time period, applications must be submitted by December 1, 2009.
