The Certificate program provides students with the same core curriculum as the MS and PhD and is most appropriate for students for whom an MS cognate is not available (i.e., in fields outside of geography, health, or human-computer interaction). To obtain the Certificate, students must complete the 19 s.h. of core course requirements. 

To track progress in the Certificate, students should use the core courses plan of study worksheet.

During the semester when they plan to obtain the certificate, students should email a completed core courses plan of study worksheet to igpi-info@uiowa.edu one week before the Graduate College deadline for graduation applications.
